general info !

i will likely mainly be posting music here, whether it take the form of written recommendations, links to streaming platforms (qobuz and youtube), or even direct links to files if i can figure that out.
i listen to music from all over the genre spectrum and so recommendations may swing somewhat wildly - i realise not everything will be to everyone's taste but i also realise the chances for anyone to just stumble across this site is almost nil so if you find yourself here without reason and don't like the music just wait because i'm sure something will come up.
P.S. all of that being said this page is not exclusively be music ! (hence the 'media' title) i may mention books, films, tv shows, poems, or any other media i stumble across and want to ramble about.

29/3/26 - The Rock Machine Turns You On

I have found myself sitting here, taking a break from studying, updating this site, and listening to an album my grandpa bought in 1968 when they were around my age now. It is quite an odd thing to have these relics and keepsakes of someone elses life, one you never experienced beyond stories and the occasional picture, and yet i still find myself imagining how he must've felt, what he had picked up on, what the songs reminded him of, and it is quite emotional. This LP is a compilation of artists all wishing to advertise their newest work.
I think in general it is a very strong compilation, it provides a wide variety of music and is consistently entertaining. I must admit however it has me now wishing I had a copy of "parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme" as the featured track (scarborough fair/canticle) is beautiful. I don't believe the LP is available for streaming but if you have the option I implore you to check out the discogs page (linked in the image below) as there is a huge number of copies for sale for quite reasonable prices (and even if you don't want to purchase one the full tracklist is available there.
P.S. for all the (other) pirates out there - there seems to be a few options on SoulSeek for you too.
